A December to Remember

We had such a fun and busy December. My parents came back for a 3 week visit from Korea. They've already been gone a year! Only 1 more to go! We can't wait. We miss them.

Here's some of my favorite photo's of the past month that I'm going to share on the next 3 posts. Its easier than trying to write everything down, and these pictures make me smile when I see them, and sometimes laugh, or even cry.

The following pictures are from my the Lundstrom family Christmas Party (my mom's side) held at my Aunt's house:

I love this picture because its of all the great grandkids with my Grandparents. The pictures from that night were the last ones taken with my Grandma as she passed away only 13 days later.

We had such a fun time with cousins, and all of my extended family eating and even did a little caroling (shown above) at my Grandpa's request.

Emmett was in a mood that night and wanted nothing to do with Santa (who was actually uncle Nate). This picture taken was his 2nd time on his lap because the 1st one lasted less than a millisecond as he arched his back so fast and slid right off his lap we couldn't even snap a picture.

Christmas at the cabin

We spent a week up in Island Park at my parents cabin. It was cozy, and fun. We spent time snowmobiling, playing ping-pong, Rockband, eating, and playing (and learning) new games. Some new games we played were

Killer Bunnies

This Charades game was my favorite. If you haven't heard of it, its similar to regular charades except a whole team acts it out, and 1 person tries to guess what they're doing. I'm warning you though... uncontrollable laughter begins to be a problem when you can no longer act out the cards.

Till We Meet Again

The day before my parents where scheduled to fly out of Salt Lake on their way to visit my sister in Iowa, we heard the news that my grandma passed away. She entered the hospital on Christmas Eve after taking a fall and her health quickly declined. It was a big blessing that not only were they still in town, but that both of my parents were able to be there for the funeral, considering had they gone back to Korea my mom most likely would've been the only one to come.

My grandma was sassy, sweet, full of spunk and loved her family very much. I'm glad she is free from ailments and pain. We will miss her.

Marilyn Lundstrom, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully January 3, 2010.Born September 2, 1924, Scipio, Utah to Grant and Mildred Esklund Thompson. Attended Millard High School and later graduated from Nursing School at the University of Utah. Also a member of the Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II. While working as a nurse in California she met the love of her life Richard E. Lundstrom. They were married on December 14, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. Emergency Nurse Course obtained its beginning due to the organizing efforts of Marilyn. Marilyn was instrumental in the instigation of Insta Cares throughout Utah. During her 30 year career Marilyn was nurse manager of the CCU ICU and Emergency Room at Cottonwood Hospital. She was respected and honored by colleagues and trusted by the patients she cared for. Marilyn served faithfully in many church callings. Marilyn served two missions with her husband to the Adelaide Australia Mission and the Rochester New York Mission. Marilyn loved to spend time with her husband and family and her little dog Corky. She will be missed greatly by all those who loved and admired her. Survived by husband, Richard, six children, Lynn (Susan), Kris Parry, Mary Ellen (Lyle) Winterton, Thompson, Diane (Michael) Delahunty, Ann Daniels, 26 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, siblings, Preston Thompson, Diane Stott and Russell (Janet) Thompson. Preceded in death by brother Gordon, son-in-law, Scott Parry. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) where friends may call the day of the service from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. Interment Scipio City Cemetery
