Its baaack

Thanks to my handy dandy husband, our camera has been brought back to life for another whirl. I can't say I'm too thrilled, because I was looking forward to getting a new camera, but we may still get one anyways, and have a "nice one" and our reincarnated one. Mike was looking on Ebay and found someone was selling our exact camera for $10. It had something wrong with it, but the part that we needed worked fine. So he bid, and bought. We got the camera and Mike went to town.
These pictures are obviously after he fixed the camera. Mike loves digging into things to see how they work. So he's just fiddling with the parts.

This was our original camera's screen, it was pretty cracked up.

Thanks for everyone's advice on camera's. As we will still probably use them when buying our next one!

I Do NOT Heart Dentists

I hope my title doesn't offend anyone (Eric, Kylee/Lance) or anyone who may actually enjoy going to the dentist or who may have a dentist in their family. Its really nothing personal. But I just can't seem to enjoy seeing someone that brings me nothing but discomfort and oftentimes, bad news. I've always had very tender teeth. I'm the kind of person that has to brush and floss about a million times a day to avoid cavities...and even then, sometimes one sneaks in. My husband on the other hand could go days without brushing (although thankfully he doesn't) and wouldn't get even a smidgeon of decay.

Because of my tender teeth I'm always sure to do my regular twice-a-year checkups, because to me, my teeth are like treating cancer...if you don't do your regular check ups, the tumor will just grow and get worse.

Well, it all started this morning with a jaw ache. I thought I had just slept on my pillow wierd, but when the pain started to take over the whole left side of my ENTIRE face I knew something was wrong. And it was hard to get sympathy from my co-workers when I would say "I don't feel very good." and they would ask "Whats wrong?" and I would respond "My face hurts". Sounds kinda funny. Well, after about 6 hours the pain left my jaw and cheek and settled on a very specific spot...my tooth. As much as I don't like the dentist I was DYING to get in. Thankfully they had an opening for me within 1/2 hour of my phone call. The diagnosis: A ROOT CANAL. I knew it. I knew my day would eventually come when the worst of the worst would happen to my poor teeth. Turns out I had an old cavity from years ago that was filled, but was just a little too close to my nerve and caused it to infect and die. They temporarily filled the root with some medication to ease the pain until I can get in for the procedure. I walked away feeling gloomy yet relieved that the good dentist took the awful pain away. Oh and about 1/2 hour ago (about 8pm) my dentist was kind enough to call me at home just to see how I was feeling. Wow. What a nice guy. Maybe dentists aren't so bad after all.

Shade

For those interested, Shade Clothing is having an awesome sale on shirts for only $6 and $8. Go to their website and click on "sale" and it'll take you right there. I'm not sure how much longer they'll have it. I love their clothes. Don't know how I ever went without a good undershirt for so long.

I wonder if I should be getting paid for this...

Weekend

I had a great weekend. My sister Kacey and her family came into town for a visit. She has three kids, Isaac (4), Daniel (3), and Ella (11 mo). We honestly didn't do a whole lot, (they were in town for a wedding) but I took Friday off of work to hang out with them. I'm telling you, I seriously don't know how you mothers out there with 2 or more kids do it. I wish I had pictures to show of their sweet little faces but sadly, we still haven't got a new camera yet...still waitin for that tax return. Kacey took some pictures, so maybe if she can spare two minutes of her day, (which I realize might be hard) she might send me some. :)

On Friday night we had a ward Elders Quorum activity. It was an adult version of Pinewood Derby. The rules were...anything you want but NO FIRE. So that gave a lot a freedom right? We were totally thinking "this is going to be fun to watch, who knows what people will bring!?" Well, for Mike's car (he actually made it a couple years ago for a similar activity) he had it all decked out painted red and black, and he stuck a couple heavy magnets on the sides for weight. Well, since there basically was no rules he also made a slingshot to go with it. Some would call that cheating but it was playing by the "rules". Well, we showed up and looked around at the competition...wow. This is about how creative it got: One man took his block of wood, attached the wheels, and had his daughter write "Go Daddy Go" on the top of it. We were shocked. Can they not do better than that? Needless to say...Mike kicked butt and won 1st place. I know...hard to beat "Go Daddy Go". We had a good laugh about it though. Maybe next year the other guys will remember Mike and try a little harder.

Saturday night we rented Planet Earth. I HIGHLY recommend it. Its an AMAZING movie about you guessed it...the earth. We only watched the 1st episode (out of 11) but we bought the whole set this morning because its so dang cool.

Anyways, that was about it. I'm back at work now, ready to take on another busy week.

Spring

"To be interesed in the changing seasons is a happier state of mind than to be hopelessly in love with spring."

**I wish I could have this attitude but I'm sorry, I am SO ready for spring!

A Penny for your Thoughts?

Some of you may remember me mentioning briefly a couple weeks ago that our camera broke. What happened was Mike and I went sledding one afternoon and threw the camera (while it was still in its case too!) in the back of his 4Runner along with the rest of our gear. Well, we had bought some inner tubes from a local tire store that afternoon also and stuffed them in (and I mean STUFFED) in the back where the camera was. Well, as Mike was trying to shut the hatch, unknown to him the camera got a little too much pressure against it and cracked the display screen. Overall, the thing still works, the display screen just doesn't show anything. And yes, I assume we could continue to use it if we wanted to, but thats just it. We don't. I was honestly happy when it broke, because we finally had an excuse to get a new one! So my point in this post is to find out what camera's YOU use! We need some ideas. What kind of camera do you have? Do you like it? Do you hate it? We need some advice! We aren't very skilled in this department and I didn't really like the last camera we picked out. It was a Canon (which I know is a good brand) but it had a really slow lag time between pictures, and half the time they would turn out blurry, the flash was "too" bright, it made you look like a deer in headlights, and overall I just didn't like it very much. This is what it looked like:
So if you're happy (or not happy) with your camera PLEASE leave us a comment, so maybe we can be happy too!
