CA part II: San Francisco

After the wedding day we spent all day Saturday in San Francisco. I didn't realize how close Oakland and San Francisco are to each other. Its just a hop-skip away. We didn't have a lot of time to see everything we wanted to, but we had fun. I've always wanted to see this city, so I was pretty excited. We walked around Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39, both popular tourist shopping areas. I had lunch at In and Out which was INSANE. I will NEVER EVER do that again in downtown San Fran. It was so flippin busy I bet there were 200 people in a teeny weeny restaurant, it was body to body and I was getting major claustrophobia. However the burger itself was quite good.

Anyways, we also took a boat ride on the bay that took you underneath the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz Island which was fun, except Emmett didn't really enjoy the 'wind in your face' sensation.

Here's some pics of the boat ride:

This was Emmett not enjoying the front of the boat. So we quickly moved to the back.

Underneath the bridge.

This is us on shore with Alcatraz in the background.

The whole family. We drove up on a hill above the bay and got a great view of the city with the bridge.

This is the pacific ocean on the other side.

After the sun set, the rest of the family had since gone back to the hotel so Mike and I decided we would have dinner at Cheesecake Factory downtown. (We had our own rental car) Emmett was sound asleep in the backseat so we decided to go for it. Well, 2 hours later, and only 2 miles later (seriously) and stop and go at dozens and dozens of lights our GPS told us we had arrived at our destination. With no Cheesecake Factory to be seen. We came to the conclusion that the restaurant was inside the mall, which looked like was inside a skyscraper, which was at an extremely busy part of the city, with parking spots nowhere to be seen. So with a sleeping baby we didn't want to attempt the hassle of searching forever for a parking spot, and then the restaurant itself. So we gave up and decided to go to Cheesecake Factory in Pleasanton (which was 30 min away) and also the same city our hotel was located. Well, to make a long story short, we ate dinner at about 9 oclock at night, the food was very mediocre, and Emmett decided to wake up (crying may I add) as soon as our food was placed in front of us, talk about toture when you're starving. All in all though, we had a lot of good conversation, and got to see parts of San Francisco that we wouldn't otherwise have seen. Haha!

It was a great trip!

I love San Fransico! I have a friend there and seeing your pictures brought back a lot of fun memories.

I am glad that you had a great time.

I am sorry to hear that Emmett doesnt like the wind in his face. My kids start out early with that. Dave takes them out on the motorcycle very early in life. Now they all like the wind in their face. Just give him time.
