Blah Blah Blog

I wish I had something really cute and fun to blog about. But today I don't. I could keep postponing until I do, but I have a free moment, so here's a little update on our lives.

I went to the temple on Wednesday night (by myself) for the first time since before I had Emmett. It felt good. Emmett was naughty and cried for the whole 2 hours without me. It feels good to be loved, but not THAT good.

I'm busy doing a Quiet Book exchange with a bunch of other girls in my ward. We each make the same 2 pages, 10 times and then we'll exchange our pages we made and have a fun book for our kids in the end. I'm nervous about pulling out the old sewing machine my mom gave me years ago. We'll see how mine turns out.

Mike brought up the idea the other night of him wanting to go back and get his Master's degree. Love the idea. Hate the prospect of never seeing my husband. I already see him so little as it is!

Easter was lovely. Had dinner at my sweet Aunt Kris's house who fed us wonderful food. I was a bad mother and didn't get Emmett an Easter basket. Next year for sure.

Bought some rice cereal for Emmett. I think for our date night tonight, we'll gather around the table, stick our baby in his lovely Bumbo chair and watch and google over him spitting out a bunch of mush all over his face. Sounds fun huh? I think so too.

Mike called me today and said its time to go on a vacation. (Something that is always my idea). He even looked into flights to various places before he called me. If you know my husband, that is so not like him. All he needs is a tent in the mountains and he's on vacation. I'm a little more into the sightseeing stuff. So perhaps we'll spend our 5 year anniversary somewhere else besides Island Park. (No offense mom and dad, we DO love it there).

Getting ready to put a new roof on our house...coming May 2009! Meaning, my husband is going to get up on the roof, rip off the old, curling, moldy shingles and nail lots and lots of new shiny ones on there. Ps. We are taking volunteers for help. No experience necessary. We don't have any either.

Now that the only reader I still have reading this is probably my parents in Korea, I'll end with some cute pictures of E.

Might go in easier the other direction don't you think?

On a beautiful walk the other day! Front-facing strollers are so much funner than rear-facing.

Our Ecuadorian baby. (One of Mike's old hats from his mission)

First time swimming! Why is it that this kid looks so huge when I hold him?

And last but not least. Emmett randomly showing us how long his tongue is. Definately a trait he got from his mother. I'm seeing a 4th generation nose-toucher with that one.

He looks big when you hold him because for one you are teeny tiny and for two he didn't get your teeny tiny genes! Instead he inherited your pointy long tongue documented so well in the picture :)
p.s. you can always take a "vacation" to Evanston! We would love to have you! (although I am sure you can think of much funner places to visit and sight see. And if Mike wont go with you, I will!)

I loved reading about your life today, Lisa!

I know a great place to vacation in Korea. You wouldn't even have to pay for lodging and they have great child care services I hear :)

The reason he looks big is because when you hold him, he's your size. But grandma and grandpa just say he's phat

Wow, look at all of us that read your blog! You are more popular than you thought. (Or at least Emmett is!) My husband does roofing (we are in WA) but if you have questions, he might be able to help you!

I always read your blog...and I love it! Especially when it is just the normal life things like you just posted! You can always come on vacation here...but there isn't much sight seeing that would interest Mike...it would be fun to see you though!

Holy cow his tongue is long! Your family is so stinkin cute! I hope you know I would be there in a heartbeat to help Mike hammer in those tiles on the roof. Seriously. I'm missing some good old hard work here in Cali.
BTW, I read your blog all the time so your parents aren't the only ones needing an E fix now and then!

hey lisa that is one cute boy you have there i love the picture of him in mike's hat. so cute. my mom actually got that suit at walmart believe it or not but it was a long time ago. she gave it to him for christmas because it's 3-6 months but dom is so skinny for his age the pants haven't fit until now. he's almost seven months old and he still wears 0-3 size pants it's rediculous.

I was wondering from what side of the family I got my party trick to so eloquently touch my tongue to my nose.
