Emmett started to cough and choke a little so I went over to investigate. Squeezed his cheeks and stuck my finger in his mouth to see what was inside. Out popped this...

Yes, a dead potato bug. Is it mean to wash your kids' mouth out with soap at this age?
Just kidding. But I think I'm going to go vomit now.
PS. Not 2 seconds after I got done posting the above,... I looked over at his quiet self in the corner and found him holding a tube of medicine that had been sitting on the arm of the couch. (he's got a longer reach than I thought) It looks like a small toothepaste tube, except the difference is the cap doesn't screw on, it's just "placed on". So he'd taken off the cap and was sucking on that. At least he'd decided not to suck on the other end.
AHH!!

hehehe. Don't you love this stage? Now, I'M going to go vomit!
The joys of a nine month old. All things must be explored by placing in the mouth. He is a sly one. Is a potato bug considered a vegatable?
well i guess the bug could have been a lot worse! Nate's nieces and nephews were playing with a dead snake when we went over yesterday. but at least they didn't eat it
Oh the joys!!!
And to think it is only the beginning...I'm sorry!!
Wow Lisa you must really love your little boy...I can't think of anyone else you would ever touch a dead bug for.
And they say the best is yet to come...
he looks so different. i can't believe how fast they change. i have caught dominic chasing a spider across the floor but no bugs in the mouth yet. i just have to add a few blogs back you mentioned that emmett likes to pull up on the tub and play which was one of dominic favorite things to do when he started pulling up on stuff he would pound on the side and laugh like it was the coolest thing ever but he's not as tall as emmett and can't pull himself over the side that's hilarious.
Ewww I don't know how i'm ever going to toughen up for these experiences! You're little boy is growing up quick!
Oh that makes me sick!!! Kids are just so much fun!
And thus begins the millions of times you will re-baby proof your home! You've gotta love curious boys! I can totally relate to this and it makes me so happy to know there are others out there having days like mine!
He's such a cutie! Sara's little boy swallowed a whole screw...and he lived, I'm glad it was a potato bug.
I love rolly polly's! But not in my mouth...
POTATO BUG?!!!?? EWWW!!! Oh and ..... good times!!!
Okay....that grossed me out.
Haha! Gross!!! The week before we found the nail ::gasp:: in Addie's diaper I found the exoskeleton of a ladybug in her diaper. At least you got the bug out before it went through his digestive system! =)
