I've been wanting to take some 2 year portraits of Emmett but couldn't decide where to go, or if I should pay someone ect. In the end though, we decided to take them ourselves just to see how they would turn out and we thought they turned out great! We took these up Mueller Park Canyon in Bountiful. The leaves were beautiful that day and there were tons of families taking pictures.

It was hard to get him to smile for us, but the photos where you see him almost "winking" is Emmett's version of a camera smile.
Some fun things about Emmett at 2 years old:
-He loves accessories. Hats, hoods, mittens, sunglasses, ties, watches, shoes. I've always thought that kids hated wearing this kindof stuff, but he looooves to wear them. Every Sunday for church when I get him up the first thing he says is "Tie!" Or if he's wearing his sunglasses he won't let me take them off for a long time, even when they're not needed. Or when wearing his coat, he has to have his hood on too. I love this fun trait about him.
-He's starting to put sentences together. At night if I say "Emmett its time for jammies" he'll turn to me and say "Mama! Jammies no, no!" Or one time I swatted his bum when he was getting into something naughty and he walked away saying "Mama! No bum bum" (As in, don't swat my bum, mom).
-As of this week (the day after his birthday) we took his binky away. We snipped the end off when he wasn't looking and gave it to him, and you should've seen the look of devastation on his face and in his voice when he saw that it was snipped. He was soooo sad. It was as if his best friend and biggest comfort in the world to him completely disabled and no longer working. It about broke my heart when he looked at us crying "Brooooken. Broooken". And maybe also because I realized my baby isn't a baby anymore...
-He loves Elmo. Sesame Street is the only show on TV I let him watch on a regular basis because he loves it so much. And surprisingly he's actually getting the hang of his ABC's better by watching it too.
-He's a brave little boy. He's had to have some pretty rough testing done this week on his stomach issues. (He throws up a lot on a regular basis thats been going on for about a year). One of them was getting some blood drawn. He sat on his dad's lap and when they poked him with the needle, he got a sad frown, but he never shed a tear or made a peep as they did it. And when they were done, he happily said "all done!" The nurse was like "he was better then even some adults!"
He also had to have an upper GI x-ray done, which entails him drinking 4-6 oz of barium while laying on the x-ray table and continuously drinking it as they took the pictures. The doctors warned me before they started that a lot of times they have to use a feeding tube through their nose's because kids refuse to drink enough for the x-ray. I said ok. But turns out, he was a champ and while he did cry during this procedure, he drank enough through the sippy cup that they didn't have to put a line through his nose. The doctors were surprised and we were proud. :)
We sure love this little guy and he makes our home so happy.
