When we brought Claire home from the hospital, Emmett not only got the title of "big brother" but also the official title of "terrible two's".
He's been seeing the naughty chair and his room a little more frequently as his tantrums have picked up in frequency.
He has also been hearing a lot of: "Emmett stop crying" or "No crying" phrases from us on a pretty regular basis. Yesterday Emmett threw a pretty big fit and we put him in his room to calm down. After a few minutes Mike went in there and talked to him until he said sorry and was happy again. Typically the pep talk always includes something along the lines of "You're being naughty, and you need to stop crying before you can come out of your room". Sometimes he gets it right away and will stop the first time, but sometimes we have to leave and repeat the process 2 or 3 more times before he'll stop crying.
Later in the evening after all was said and done and the 2 year old was happy again, we were in the kitchen getting dinner ready and Claire was in the bouncy chair. She was getting fussy and started to cry. Emmett looked at her and said "No crying Claire!" (except instead it sounded like "No crwying Clear!")
Another story happened about a week ago. I was on the computer focused on something probably very non-important. But he came up to me and started saying "Time out chair!" I looked at him when I realized what he was saying and said "Emmett's a good boy, you don't need to go in the time out chair". But then he said in a very serious tone, "tractor crying" and pointed at the time out chair in the dining room. I looked over there and saw that he had placed his little toy tractor in the chair.
Glad he's starting to get it.

good luck!!!! i hope the crying all passes soon!!!
hahaha. I LOVE his one eyed pictures, they crack me up. Kids are so fun when they start to talk and figure stuff out on their own.
I know I am not the parent in this situation so I can say how adorable (what emmet said, not his actions.) Good luck on the terrible twos. Your kids are adorable.
I love the tractor in time out! It has probably needed a trip to time out for a long time!
Emmett is adorable! I couldn't believe how hard it was to adjust to Cameron being here and it wasn't because of Cam, it was because of the twins! I really learned a LOT. I never knew I could be that mad until that whole adjustment came. Crazy times. Everyone is AWESOME now, though. You are fantastic!
