A Penny for your Thoughts?

Some of you may remember me mentioning briefly a couple weeks ago that our camera broke. What happened was Mike and I went sledding one afternoon and threw the camera (while it was still in its case too!) in the back of his 4Runner along with the rest of our gear. Well, we had bought some inner tubes from a local tire store that afternoon also and stuffed them in (and I mean STUFFED) in the back where the camera was. Well, as Mike was trying to shut the hatch, unknown to him the camera got a little too much pressure against it and cracked the display screen. Overall, the thing still works, the display screen just doesn't show anything. And yes, I assume we could continue to use it if we wanted to, but thats just it. We don't. I was honestly happy when it broke, because we finally had an excuse to get a new one! So my point in this post is to find out what camera's YOU use! We need some ideas. What kind of camera do you have? Do you like it? Do you hate it? We need some advice! We aren't very skilled in this department and I didn't really like the last camera we picked out. It was a Canon (which I know is a good brand) but it had a really slow lag time between pictures, and half the time they would turn out blurry, the flash was "too" bright, it made you look like a deer in headlights, and overall I just didn't like it very much. This is what it looked like:
So if you're happy (or not happy) with your camera PLEASE leave us a comment, so maybe we can be happy too!

ok so here is my two cents, take it or leave it!!! I have a samsung, It isn't my favorite, it takes forever for the picture to take after you click the button, and it has the red eye thing, that sometimes takes forever to get it ready, you have to wait for the red eye to stop flashing before it will take the picture, really annoying!!! I have heard, and this is really an only heard, i have never used one, but you might look at the cannon powershot, i hear they have a much faster shutter! I too would love a new camera, but i better be grateful for the one I've got, because I don't think i will be getting one anytime soon!!!

this is my camera, and it is good like mom's homemade rolls. I love this camera. I think it takes really good pictures, and the battery lasts forever. I've had it for over 6 months and I've only charged it once.

I'd find a camera you like, then check reviews on it (http://www.dpreview.com/ or www.cnet.com) and maybe wait for a deal on it. search www.slickdeals.net for stuff. Thats what I do.

We have the cannon powershot and I love it. Sometimes they do turn out blurry and have red eye but overall I really do love me camera. It's small and easy to use. I think my mom has a newer version of the cannon powershot than I do and I think she likes it too. Oh and I got the one with the rechargable battery that you plug in the wall (not regular batteries, you get what I am talking about right?!) Anyway, and I don't think I would do it any other way. There's my penny for you :)

My mom is crazy when it comes to digital cameras...she has a cannon powershot that takes great pics (both my brothers also have a fancier version of the powershot they take professional like pics). I know you said you didn't like Cannon, but let me tell you the great experience I have had with them...our video camera (cannon) totally stopped working so I contacted their customer service number (found it online) and they told me what they thought it was and emailed me a label so that at could send it in at no cost to me. They fixed it and got it back to me in less than a week and a half. I paid nothing and they totally fixed the camera, cleaned it and sent it back good as new. They were so nice about it. We have had the camera for 4 years so I didn't think they would do anything but tell me what parts I needed to buy and where to take it. After they treated me so good I decided to stick with cannons! Sorry, you asked for my opion so I guess I decided to give you the long version!

I have a Nikon and I think it's really good. I get REALLY good, clear pictures. Plus that it's got great optical and digital zoom options. The only bad thing about it is that if you use the best setting, there is a few seconds of lag time between the camera being ready again. But in other settings, it's ready immediately.

Oh Oh! I know this one, I love, LOVE the cannon rebel camera. I used it for a year in high school and fell in love with it. Its kind of a bigger camera, but takes great pictures! Its super easy to get to know too.
