Thanks to my handy dandy husband, our camera has been brought back to life for another whirl. I can't say I'm too thrilled, because I was looking forward to getting a new camera, but we may still get one anyways, and have a "nice one"
and our reincarnated one. Mike was looking on Ebay and found someone was selling our exact camera for $10. It had something wrong with it, but the part that we needed worked fine. So he bid, and bought. We got the camera and Mike went to town.
These pictures are obviously after he fixed the camera. Mike loves digging into things to see how they work. So he's just fiddling with the parts.

This was our original camera's screen, it was pretty cracked up.

Thanks for everyone's advice on camera's. As we will still probably use them when buying our next one!

I'm impressed! I try to do stuff like that and just end up breaking it more. Take this morning, for example. The power adaptor for my laptop was acting funny, so me and my roommates broke it open and snooped around...didn't know what we were looking for. then noticed that it was the cord that was bad, and nothing on the inside. so now I have a ghetto adaptor that needs some duct tape to keep it together.
Good job Mike...that is really impressive! My Grandpa is a wealthy man because he fixes anything and everything before buying something new...keep it up and that could be you!! =)
Wow, I'm pretty sure I never would have gotten it all back in there! Go Mike!
Hey there Lisa. How the heck are you? I get updates on you from your mom but with our schedules we don't connect very often so it will be nice to keep track of you on your blog. I can't believe your mom isn't the blogging queen. You know how she likes keeping track of everyone and she is so good at it. She knows stuff about people in Moses Lake before I do. She's the Master. I hope all is well. It was nice getting to see you for a bit at dinner last year. My life has changed a bit since then. In a couple more months I'll have two married children. Chris is a junior and will be off before I know it. I'm very impressed that Mike fixed your camera. Chris would take it apart....but it would never get back together.
What a handy dandy husband you have! By the way I hate going to the dentist too!
bummer....no new camera!!! Well i guess it is probably better on the pocket book this way, but I think I would have liked the new camera better!!!
We have to love our McGuyver husbands. That is something that Dave would have done. Yours looks a little better. Our would have ended up with duct tape on it.
i seriously cannot believe that he got all of those parts back into the camera, i am in awe!
