I started having contractions early Sunday morning around 3am. They continued all day until we decided it was time to go to the hospital around 6pm Sunday night. When we arrived I was barely dilated to 1+. Which was really disapointing since I had been laboring for about 15 hours. They decided to monitor me to see if I would keep progressing and thankfully 2 hours later I was dilated to a 3 so they admitted me. By 2am I was complete and we started pushing. The baby was still really high, so they warned me pushing wasn't going to be easy. Well, long story short 1 hour 1/2 later the checked to see where the baby was and he was still really high, and wasn't moving. They told me he was too big and wasn't fitting through my pelvis. So we decided it was time to settle for a c-section. I was pretty disapointed after going through all that I did, but by 4 in the morning going on 25 hours of no sleep and hard long labor I was exhausted and didn't think I could keep pushing even if they thought he would fit through. At 5:48am we heard that little cry and he was born.
We will be in the hospital until probably Friday. He's healthy and beautiful and we are so in love with him. We couldn't be more thankful for this little miracle.

Congrats Mike and Lisa. He is beautiful and I'm so glad he is here. I had to have an emergency c-section with Cooper so I feel your pain. I don't know which is worse going through all that work and having a C-section or having to rush in because somethings wrong. Anyways, good luck with the recovery. Coughing and laughing were the worse for me. Mike, take good care of her. Remember you didn't just have a baby but you had major surgery as well so take it easy. Love ya

He's a chunk...and he's adorable. I'm so happy for you Lisa and Mike. What a blessing to finally have him here and what a blessing he receives by having you as his parents. Enjoy every minute. They grow so fast.

Lisa I've been checking your blog almost every day since your due date. Congratulations, he is absolutely beautiful! What awesome pictures you got of him. I'm sorry that it ended up being a c-section, but am so glad that everything went well. What a big baby, 8 lbs 10 oz. huh, I can understand why he didn't fit through your pelvis.
